What to include in your message
To speed up the answer, please send:
- the email address of your Urbit account;
- the AI assistant or MCP client you are using (for example, Claude) and, if relevant, the tool or endpoint name;
- the parameters of the request (address or coordinates, radius, limit) and the approximate time it was made;
- the error message or unexpected result you received;
- for billing questions, the date and amount of the charge.
Please do not send passwords, full API keys or card numbers by email.
Getting started
- Create your Urbit account and obtain your access credentials.
- Add the Urbit MCP server to your AI assistant or MCP client using the server URL
https://mcp-server.urbit.com.br/mcp/mcp-serve-urbitand the credentials provided with your account. - Ask your assistant a question about a São Paulo location (address or coordinates); it will call the appropriate Urbit tools.
- Check the price of any service at any time by calling
get-precos-servicos-api-mcp; this call is free.
Credits and pricing
- Welcome credits. Every new user receives a free credit balance to use the MCP server without restriction while evaluating it.
- Cost per request. Each data request consumes a unit cost in credits, deducted when the request is processed. The current cost of every service is listed by
get-precos-servicos-api-mcp. - Free administrative services. Consulting prices, checking your balance and usage, and managing your account do not consume credits.
- Failed requests. Requests that fail because of an error on Urbit’s side are not charged. If you believe you were charged incorrectly, write to support within 30 days with the request details.
- Buying more credits. When your balance runs out, contact support or use the purchase channels indicated in your account to add credits or choose a subscription plan.
Usage examples
The three examples below are real responses from the Urbit MCP for our office address, Av. Paulista, 509 – Bela Vista, São Paulo (lat −23.5704, lng −46.6449; fiscal sector-block 009081). Each example shows what you can ask your AI assistant and the data the MCP returns; the assistant then writes the answer in plain language.
Example 1 — Who lives around this address? (get-sociodemografico-mcp, 200 m radius)
Question: “What is the resident profile within 200 m of Av. Paulista, 509? I want to size demand for a compact-apartment project.”
What the MCP returns (IBGE Census 2022, consolidated in the 200 m radius):

Answer the assistant gives: the immediate surroundings are an older, high-income, apartment-only neighbourhood dominated by single-person households, which supports compact 1- and 2-bedroom units aimed at seniors and singles rather than family typologies.
Example 2 — What can I build here? (get-zoneamento-parametros)
Question: “What are the zoning parameters for the lot at Av. Paulista, 509?”

Example 3 — How well connected is it? (get-mobilidade-urbana, 800 m radius)
Question: “Which rail stations are within 800 m of Av. Paulista, 509?”

Answer the assistant gives: the address is served by four operating metro stations on two lines within a 12-minute walk, the nearest (Brigadeiro) at 302 m, plus a planned Line 16 station at Paraíso.
Each of these calls consumed the unit cost listed by get-precos-servicos-api-mcp at the time of the request. Combine them with get-avm, get-transacoes-itbi or get-lote-fiscal for a full feasibility screen.
Frequently asked questions
Does the MCP return confidential taxpayer data? No. The Service returns data compiled from public and licensed sources and from Urbit’s own models. It does not disclose confidential taxpayer information or personal data about property owners or occupants.
Which cities are covered? The Service currently focuses on the city of São Paulo. Coverage of other cities is announced through the Service as it becomes available.
A request returned no results. Was I charged? A successful request that finds no data at the location (“nada consta”) is a valid response and consumes the service’s unit cost. Requests that fail with a server error are not charged.
How do I reset my API key or connection token? Write to contato@urbit.com.br from your account email; we will rotate the credential and confirm by email.
How do I delete my account or my data? Send the request to privacidade@urbit.com.br. See the Privacy Policy for what we keep and for how long.
Where are the Terms of Service? The Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern use of the Service.
